Skins in The Ascent are an aesthetic item picee that can be added to weapons and equipment to change equipment appearances and aesthetics. Some come with additional animated features for extra flare, but do not have any extra combat benefits attached to them. These are usually downloaded from DLC and can be equipped to any weapon.
